Second semester includes a research project. Third quarter students selected a famous person they would like to research. They learned about the process of writing a research paper. At the end of the quarter they had a finished product that they were proud of. Fourth quarter involves them creating a bottle person (replica of their person researched) as well as putting together a presentation. Students chose to create a powerpoint, Prezi, or poster. Students will be sharing this project at the Exhibition of Learning on May 2.
During the first semester 7th and 8th graders learned about Medieval Times. They memorized a medieval play called A Little Knight Schtick: Righting the Wrong and Wronging the Right. They worked with the the high school choir as well as sewing and culinary arts class to put on a Madrigal Dinner at the school. It was an evening full of fun that the community enjoyed. It also helped to have Miss Kristi in here student teaching so we could break into sections to rehearse the various scenes of the play. She also taught a fun lesson on their Family Crest. Each student researched and made their family crest which was displayed at the Madrigal Dinner.
